A taste of each Advanced Impact Track

This year, seniors will place into one of three Advanced Impact Project tracks: Social Entrepreneurship, Policy & Advocacy, and Art & Technology. These tracks are designed to help students further their projects from junior year by inspiring answers to questions such as:

  • How will my work be sustained beyond this year?

  • What new skills do I need to hone in order to accomplish my goals?

  • How will I finance my project?

  • How might I best scale the impact I can make?

To help students make an informed choice about what track might best support their work, we arranged three field trips to give them a taste of how each track might further their work the most.

Students learning about the artist in residency program at Self Help Graphics in Boyle Heights as a sample of the Arts & Technology track.

Students visiting the CalState LA Everytable location to learn from Bryce Fluellen, Executive Director of Social Equity Franchising about the company’s unique business model as a taste of the kinds of topics students will address in our Social Entrepreneurship track.

Students gathered at Ministerios Manantial de Amor church in University Park with community organizer, Hugo Garcia speaking with students about the STAND LA movement against urban oil drilling in Los Angeles.

Hugo in front of Allenco drilling site speaking with students about what kinds of skills and attitudes one needs to be an effective community organizer if they were to work in our Policy & Advocacy track.
